The People Behind the Care
Across five Wisconsin locations, our colleagues bring expertise, compassion, and a shared commitment to caring for the pets and families they serve. Get to know the team behind your pet’s care.

More Than a Team. Colleagues.
At Animal Wellness Center, we use the word colleague intentionally. It reflects how we work together, how we care for our patients, and how we support the broader veterinary community.
We’re an independent, locally led practice built around a shared purpose: to provide thoughtful, relationship-driven care while creating an environment where people genuinely enjoy the work they do.
That mindset shows up in the way our colleagues talk about their work every day:
Our Colleagues, By Location
Each AWC location has its own team, its own community, and its own culture. Find your clinic below and meet the colleagues who will care for your pet
Our Leadership & Operations Team
Animal Wellness Center is led by a team that has lived every role in the practice, from front desk to clinical care to multi-clinic operations. They built this organization around a belief that independent, relationship-driven veterinary care is worth protecting.

What inspired you to pursue veterinary medicine (or your field)?
She knew early on that she wanted a career in medicine, initially considering pediatrics before realizing veterinary medicine offered the perfect blend of patient care and problem-solving. Because animals cannot communicate what’s wrong, she was drawn to the investigative nature of the field — using observation, critical thinking, and clinical skill to uncover the root of each issue.
What do you enjoy most about working with pets and their families?
One of the most rewarding aspects of her work is witnessing the bond between pets and their families. Helping a sick pet recover and return home to the people who love them is what continues to drive her passion for the profession.
Special areas of interest?
Dentistry, internal medicine, and veterinary spinal manipulation therapy.
Pets of your own?
Beau, a French Bulldog who frequently accompanies her to work; Murphy, an energetic German Shorthaired Pointer; Kevin, a sweet senior cat; and Polly, a spirited polydactyl cat.
Outside of work?
Spending time with her wife Stephanie and their son Hunter, along with birdwatching, home and yard projects, following local sports teams, and maintaining an impressive baseball card collection.

What inspired you to pursue veterinary medicine (or your field)?
Animals have been my singular passion since I was young. Throughout school, I developed a love for science and finding a career in vet med allowed me to join the two!
What do you love most about working at AWC?
As my role has evolved, from intern while in the veterinary technician program at Madison College, to CSR and veterinary assistant, CVT, and now in my current role as Director of Operations for our five clinics, I’ve felt so lucky to have been able to work with such an extraordinary group of people. From the start, I was given such encouragement, support, resources, and guidance which allowed me to expand my knowledge and skillset, and I’m now so honored to be the one who is able to provide the same to others.
Pets of your own?
2 dogs, the loves of my life! Myles is a 12 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who’s favorite pastime is cuddling up on the couch and snoozing the day away. His naughty younger “brother” is Vigo (who may be only 25 pounds but is convinced he’s the king of the world) spends his time protecting the neighborhood from squirrels.
Outside of work?
Spending time with the dogs, reading, watching movies, video games.

What inspired you to pursue veterinary medicine (or your field)?
Stephanie has essentially been preparing for this role since elementary school, when she ran an imaginary veterinary clinic complete with patient files, appointments, and a lineup of very questionable “medications.” So really, this is less of a career path and more of a lifelong commitment to the bit.
What do you enjoy most about working with pets and their families?
She originally planned to pursue veterinary school but found her way back to the field through operations, people, and behind-the-scenes support. Starting as a CSR, she developed a strong passion for client communication and education, and she still loves creating those “aha” moments that lead to better care and stronger client understanding.
Your approach to anxious pets or first-time owners?
Her approach is simple: slow down, listen, and make people feel heard.
Pets of your own?
Murphee, her high-energy German Shorthaired Pointer (daily walks: yes, even in Wisconsin winters), Beau, her very handsome French Bulldog, and two cats: Kevin (a sweet senior) and Pollee, a feisty polydactyl with zero regard for authority.

What inspired you to pursue veterinary medicine (or your field)?
A bet between my dad and me led me to start working with dairy cattle, which ended up sparking my interest in veterinary medicine. Whenever a cow became sick, I found myself fascinated by the medical side of caring for them.
What do you enjoy most about working with pets and their families?
Helping a sick pet and seeing them come in year after year still happy and healthy and knowing I helped.
Special areas of interest?
Laser Therapy.
One thing you wish every pet owner knew?
Approach your pet’s medical care the same way you would for a child. While veterinary care can sometimes be costly, the love and companionship our pets bring make it worth it.
What do you love most about working at AWC?
The clinic culture. All 5 locations have different cultures, making each clinic feel unique and welcoming.
