Animal Wellness Center Mentorship Program
More Than Medicine
Veterinary professionals are trained extensively in the science of animal care, but the skills that shape a truly great career include communicating with clients, managing time and resources, navigating team dynamics, and growing as a professional.
However, this type of training rarely receives the same level of attention. At Animal Wellness Center, we think that needs to change.

What the Program Is
AWC's mentorship program is built around what we call the human side of veterinary medicine, the skills the industry historically assumes you'll just pick up on the job. At Animal Wellness Center, we think you deserve more from the start.
The program is a 10- to 12-month structured experience that goes beyond technical job training. Participants meet monthly for guided content, check in bi-weekly with a mentor, and gain access to AWC's team and internal resources throughout the journey. It is intentionally focused on the non-clinical skills that define long-term success in the profession.
What You'll Develop
Client communication.
Not just tips, but a first-principles approach to how
communication actually works and the variables you can learn to control
Resource and time management.
Practical frameworks for managing the
demands of a busy clinic environment
Relationship dynamics.
Understanding team culture, organizational context,
and how to grow within it
Professional development.
Building the habits and mindsets early that carry you through a full career
Who It's For
This program is designed for veterinary professionals who want to strengthen the skills that support long-term success in the profession. Whether you're a veterinary assistant, certified veterinary technician, client service representative, or another member of the veterinary care team, the program provides practical guidance, mentorship, and professional development that often fall outside traditional clinical
training.
While every role contributes differently to patient care and client experience, the challenges of communication, time management, workplace dynamics, and professional growth are shared across the profession. This program creates a structured space to develop those skills alongside experienced mentors and peers who understand the realities of veterinary medicine.
A $500 completion bonus is awarded to participants who finish the program.
The mentorship program is currently available to candidates local to Southeast Wisconsin. A broader membership-based platform expanding access to these resources is in development. Stay tuned!
